Why is Regular Grooming Necessary?
Grooming is the act of keeping the coat and skin in a clean and balanced state. It involves the maintenance of ears, nailsm skin and coat.
Regular Grooming also strengthens the relationship between the dog and its handler.
What are the reasons for Grooming?
A clean coat means warmer dog in cold weather and a cooler dog in warm weather.
A well-groomed coat means that air can reach the skin and so cuts and wounds will heal quicker. A dirty coat is more likely to cause infections.
Regular grooming means clean, fresh-smelling coat with less hair shedding and parasite infestations.
What problems may occur from not grooming my dog?
If left un-groomed a dogs coat will become matted and felted. This leads to the skin becoming unable to breathe which can lead to sores, cuts, skin infections and parasites. If left long enough the matting can tighten making it uncomfortable for the dog to carry on with its daily routine.
Will grooming upset my dog?
Grooming should be enjoyable for your dog. In most cases, dogs will look forward to being groomed just like we look forward to being pampered. The main aim for us groomers is to make your dog look and feel great with little or no stress. From the smallest Chihuchua to the largest wolfhound and everyone in between they deserve and need regular grooming.
